Brand activation video: when the event is the message itself

There are events where the brand doesn't invite people into a room — it brings the experience to them. This is where brand activation video comes in, and that's exactly what Havas did to celebrate winning back the NOS account: instead of a formal dinner, it staged a «Party Bus». A bus picked the client up at Campo Grande, turned into a party on the move through Lisbon and ended at the agency, with a floor dedicated to the brand's team and a party on the underground level.

Filming an activation like this is different from covering a stage event. There's no predictable run-of-show and no fixed point to aim the camera — there's movement, transitions between spaces and an energy that builds through the night. The video's job is to follow that rhythm without interrupting it, capturing spontaneity while never falling behind.

The key is understanding the creative idea before filming. When the agency designs an event down to the detail — the journey, the moments, the surprise — the video has to honour that intent. Every shot serves the story: the arrival, the party on the bus, the reveal of the brand floor, the climax in the basement.

In the end, the piece is no longer just a record of the night. It becomes proof of a relationship won back and content the agency and brand can use to show how they communicate differently. Creative agencies know how to design these experiences — and video is how you make them last.
